Wetter, North Rhine-Westphalia - A recent traffic stop led to a violent confrontation between a man and police officers, resulting in a gunshot being fired. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when law enforcement officers were conducting checks on vehicles in Kaiserstraße as part of their enforcement of a local traffic ban.

During this operation, a 45-year-old man from Dortmund was pulled over and subsequently observed the officers as they continued their work. According to a joint statement from the Hagen Prosecutor's Office and local police, the man suddenly charged at one of the officers in an attempt to wrestle away his service weapon. The 45-year-old was subsequently taken to a medical facility for treatment of his injuries. Investigators from the Hagen Criminal Police department have taken over the case to conduct a thorough examination of the scene, including the recovery of the bullet from the officer's firearm. A police dog has been deployed to assist in this investigation.
